Here are the rules and stuff for the blackjack tournament: The tournament will begin at 10 AM on Friday August 2, 1996 on the east side of the Horseshoe. Play will be six-handed with eleven tables in use. Each player will receive $500 in tournament chips and may bet from $10 to $500 on each hand. Play will continue for 30 minutes in the preliminary round. The two players from each table with the most chips will proceed to the semi-final round. Ties will be broken by playing additional hands until the tie is broken. The play will be from a double deck and two rounds will be dealt to a full table before shuffling. Each player may wager on one hand only. Each player must act on his hand independently with no help from other players or spectators. The twenty-two players making the semi-final round will again start with $500 in tournament chips and will continue play for another 30 minutes. At the conclusion of the semi-final round the top player from each table will move to the final table. The final round will consist of 30 minutes play with the top three players being awarded prize money as follows: 1st: 55% 2nd: 30% 3rd: 15% The Horseshoe is required to fill out a W2G for each payout of $600 or more. BLACKJACK RULES double on anything resplit anything no double after split no surrender dealer hits soft 17 GENERAL RULES Participants must be 21 years of age or older. Participants must be registered through rec.gambling. Participants agree through their participation in these events that the Horseshoe management decisions are final and binding on all players. The Horseshoe retains the right to cancel or alter any or all events. The Horseshoe may restrict entry to anyone for any reason. All tournament chips are non-negotiable and have no cash value. Entries are not transferable. Players not seated at the start of each event are subject to being removed from the event and will forfeit their entry fee. The decision to pick up a participant, charge a penalty amount, or any other action will be at the sole discretion of the Horseshoe management. Participants agree that the Horseshoe may use their name and likeness for promotional purposes at no cost. Media coverage of the actual event is likely, and if this should occur all participants agree to waive any rights concerning any broadcast of said coverage.
